What is “Biblical Counseling?”
When some people think of “biblical” counseling, they may think of a “take two verses and call me in the morning” approach. Others may have a vision of someone simply calling you a sinner and telling you over and over to “repent!” While there may be some who take these kinds of approaches, that is not what we mean. Such approaches are uncompassionate and do not take into account the full counsel of God’s Word.
When we refer to biblical counseling, we mean that we take the Bible, God’s Word, and relate it individually to those who are struggling with either personal sin or with the difficulties of suffering. Our goal is that the person will genuinely change in the inner person (the “heart”) to be pleasing to God.
